On Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at approximately 12:16 p.m. the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center received a 911 call from the parent of a 3 year old male who was unresponsive. AMR and Shawnee County Deputies responded to the residence, 1404 SW Clearview Lane and discovered the child not breathing. The child was transported by AMR to Stormont Vail Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The residence of 1404 SW Clearview Lane is a day care center and at the time of the incident 10 children were present at the center. It is unknown at this time whether any of the children witnessed the accident or not.
The preliminary investigation suggests that the child got tangled up in the frame of a swing set located in the backyard of the residence. At this time it does not appear to be suspicious, but as protocol the incident is under investigation by Detectives with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office.
The name of the child is being withheld at this time pending notification of family members.
