# 130708 Two-Car Accident University Blvd & S. Topeka Blvd

This morning at approximately 7:05 am a traffic accident involving two pick-up trucks was reported in the northbound lanes near the intersection of University Blvd and S. Topeka Blvd. A 2004 blue, Dodge Dakota driven by Sherri L. Despain, age 37, of Topeka was traveling northbound on S. Topeka Blvd and was struck by a 2008 white Ford F-150 driven by Douglas E. Peak, age 55, of Huron, Ks. Peak was traveling southbound on Topeka Blvd and turned left to go eastbound on University Blvd when he failed to yield for northbound traffic at the intersection.

The traffic control signal at the intersection was disabled as a result of the collision. East/West cross traffic on University Blvd is shut-down until further notice. City of Topeka signal repair personnel are installing a new traffic control utility box near the intersection. North and Southbound traffic on Topeka Blvd is open.

No injuries were reported with this crash. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts, there were no other occupants in the cars.
