Injury Accident

We thought it would be fun to involve citizens with the naming of our newest addition to the Sheriff’s Office! A couple of our K-9 handlers are headed back to Topeka from Texas with a male German Shepard who is just under two years old. He will begin training with our officers over the next several weeks. The person with the winning name will have an opportunity to meet our new K9 and learn more about our program!

To submit a name, please visit our Facebook page;

We will be accepting names thru next week and we will announce the winner on Friday, September 15th.

On September 8th, 2017, at around 10:50am, the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an injury accident at NW Menninger Rd and Topeka BLVD. A black and grey Ford pickup was traveling southbound in the 3000 block of NW Topeka BLVD when the truck crossed the center line and entered the east ditch. The truck struck a utility pole and continued south, striking a second utility pole and coming to rest in a ditch near the NE corner of the intersection of Menninger Rd/Topeka BLVD.

The driver, Dallas M. Pasley, 29, of Topeka, was the only occupant in the vehicle. He was transported to St. Francis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Soldier Township Fire and AMR assisted at the scene.

The accident is still under investigation.

Let’s make Topeka the Safest Capital City in America.
