Fatality Accident 4600 SW Gage Blvd

On Monday, September 11th, at 3pm, the VFW Post 1650 will honor First Responders with a recognition in the Sheriff’s Office lobby. Deputy Robert Miller has been selected to receive this award on behalf of the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office. We would like to invite our media partners to join us for this special recognition.

On September 08, 2017 at 1742 hours the Shawnee County Emergency Communication Center was advised of an injury accident in the 4600 Block of SW Gage Blvd. involving a motorcycle. Deputies arrived in the area and located a 2005 Kawasaki Motorcycle in the East ditch. The motorcyclist who was not wearing a helmet and had no passenger was North bound, when for an unknown reason went off the east edge of the roadway, striking a tree.

The driver identified as Shawn Campbell David, 23 of Carbondale, Kansas was transported to Stormont Vail hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by AMR, Mission Fire and the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
