On 1/1/19 at approximately 1805 hrs a Shawnee County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a tan in color 2005 Chevy Malibu in the 4200 blk of SW 75 Hwy.
The driver of the Chevy Malibu turned off of the Hwy onto a side road where he drove through a KDOT fence becoming stuck. The driver then fled on foot. Shawnee County deputies, Topeka police officers and KHP set up a perimeter to contain the suspect.
The suspect was then apprehended a short time later. The suspect is identified as Ivy, Keshawn B/M 06/06/1998.
The suspect was arrested on several traffic violations including driving while suspended, failure to stop at a stop sign, reckless driving, no liability insurance, criminal damage, and interference with a law enforcement officer.
AMR was called to the scene to render aid to Mr. Ivy due to small cuts on his hands from crossing barbed wire in the area.
Topeka PD, KHP, and AMR assisted at the scene.
