Injury Accident SW 53rd and Auburn

The Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate Dillon R.A. Smith, 22 years old. Dillon was last seen on 6/30/19 at approximately 1:30pm wearing a grey t-shirt with black stripes and red Nike shorts. He should be wearing a medical walking boot on his left foot.

On 07/01/19 at 1306 hours Shawnee County Emergency Communications Center was notified of a two vehicle accident at SW 53rd St. and Auburn Rd.

When Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived it was discovered that a green Nissan pickup truck was travelling westbound on SW 53rd, failed to stop at the stop sign, and struck a white Jeep SUV travelling southbound on SW Auburn.

The driver of the Nissan, Stuart Collier, of Wichita, was ejected from the vehicle. He was transported by AMR to a local hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Jeep, Ali Wheeler, of Topeka, was transported in stable condition to a local hospital with injuries not considered life threatening.

Preliminarily, this accident may have occurred due to a medical situation.
